Seasons Greetings


We at Cuddle Soft Quilt Kits have gathered some of our favorite Christmas and Wintertime Goodies to share with you and your family. Check back frequently as we will be adding more fun things every week. We hope you enjoy a fun and safe Holiday Season.


Creamy Chicken Rice Soup
-Grandma Grace

 
Boil 3 chicken breasts for 20 minutes in 1 1/2 quarts of water.
Add:

1 Tbl chopped onion
1/2 cup long grain rice
2/3 cup diced celery
1 shredded carrot
 
Cook 20 minutes more; remove chicken breasts and dice. Add one 12 ounce can evaporated milk and mix well. Mix 1 1/2 tsp lemon pepper seasoning with 2 Tblsp cornstarch and 3 Tblsp chicken soup base. Add to 1/2 cup hot soup broth and mix well. Mix everything together and heat. Add 1/2 cup butter. Top with cheese if desired.

** This delicious hot soup is fabulous served with hot crusty bread on a cold winter night!

Taco Soup

1/2 lb lean ground beef
1 small chopped onion
1 28 ounce can tomatoes, slightly blended
1 15 ounce can kidney beans, undrained
2-3 Tbl taco seasoning
1 17 can whole kernal corn
 
Brown hamburger and then add the rest of the ingredients. Serve with sour cream and cheese and chips.

** Another really great soup for a cold winter night!

Palestine Stew

1 cup whole wheat (uncooked)
1 cup lentils (uncooked)
2 quarts of water
salt and pepper
1 quart tomatoes
1 lb hamburger, browned
1 onion, chopped
chili powder
 
Cook the wheat and lentils in the crock pot in the water on low heat for 6-8 hours. (you may need to add more water.) Add hamburger and other ingredients. Cook at least 2 more hours. Serve with cheese and sour cream to garnish.

** this is super yummy. My kids loved it served with a fresh batch of Quick Cinnamon Rolls.
