Dr. Suess gets a birthday celebration, you get the gifts!

March 2 is Dr. Seuss’s birthday!

Thanks right, Theodor Seuss Geisel was born March 2, 1904, with the
Cat in the Hat being the beginning of his legendary series of children’s books. According to Wikipedia he took the pen name of Dr. Seuss and at the time of his death in 1991 his books have sold over 600 million copies and were translated into more than 20 languages. Even Grandmas as old as I am can remember the fun of “Green Eggs and Ham” and “How the Grinch stole Christmas”.

In honor of his birthday, I am declaring a Dr. Seuss sale. Several years ago Shannon Fabrics printed some delightful Dr. Seuss prints on Cuddle fabrics. I have featured them in my Web store, and as of today just have a few left that I would like to share. Every child should be able to snuggle in a “Cat in the Hat” quilt and listen to those classic stories. These fabrics have all been discontinued by Shannon, so now they are collector’s items right?! Either way, they are soft, snuggly and delightful!

Here’s the deal:

I have six of the Celebrate Seuss Throw Kits.  (5” strip 45” x 60”) I suggest using a red cuddle backing and, depending on how
warm you want it, you may or may not include a batting. It comes with a free pattern and it is pretty easy to make. Just watch the video in the learning Center to learn tips on how to make this quilt. The regular price is $41.99 and for the birthday special they will be $25.99.

I also have six of the Seuss Cuddle Cube Kits left. A Cuddle Cube is nine 19” strips, 5 prints (prints may vary in the kits) and 4 solids.
They are great to make an easy row by row, or it’s fun to cut the strips into different sizes for your quilt. They are also fun to cut into squares and piece your top. There are lots of fun free patterns for quilts and pillows on the Shannon Fabric web site that will inspire you. Either way, you get a fun assortment of Dr. Seuss projects to snuggle with while reading and creating fun memories with your family. The Cuddle Cubes are a total of 2 ¼ yards and retail for $59.99 but this week they are $29.99.

My third offer is a 50 x 60” throw kit made from the black and red “Wonkie Dot collection”. This is a pretty easy throw, just spray fuse the
back and front together and bind. You can add a few bar tacks and you’re off to snuggle with the kids.  The kit comes with the Wonkie Dots, Red Cuddle 3 backing and 9” red Cuddle 3 for binding. That’s an easy project!  Retail is $49.99, and it’s on sale for $39.99! (Order it now - I only have four!)

However you celebrate Seuss, this is a great beginning of Easter, Christmas or Birthday gifts for the kids.  Make the kids happy, make them a Dr. Seuss memory quilt and share your own memories of a great tradition of reading, laughing, and learning together!  (Just don't forget the green eggs & ham!)
